Controlled Substances Testing Information

Testing Methods·Preparation·Medical Certificate Information

Because the types of tests and documents accepted differ depending on the submitting institution, check the required form first.

What is the purpose of your controlled substances test?

Controlled substances testing or a physician’s medical certificate may be required for documents submitted when obtaining qualifications or licenses, such as those for medical professionals and teachers, for employment, or for foreign nationals’ employment. Check in advance the wording required by the submitting institution, the test type, whether a designated medical institution is required, and the period for which the documents are accepted.

How are TBPE and urine tests performed?

We provide guidance on testing methods appropriate for the purpose of submission, including TBPE rapid tests using urine specimens. Because the items checked differ depending on the test type, if the submitting institution requires a specific controlled substances test or a four-drug test, confirm the required test items and whether they can be performed at our clinic when making your appointment.

What should I do about medications I take before the test?

Medications taken for treatment, such as cold medicine and asthma medication, may affect test results, so please inform the medical staff about your current medications and recent medication history. Do not stop taking medication on your own; consult us about the test schedule and any necessary preparations.

Is there anything else I need to prepare besides identification?

You must bring an identification document. If you have instructions from the submitting institution or a medical certificate form, bring it with you as well. Before testing, please inform us of any relevant circumstances concerning specimen collection, such as pregnancy, possible pregnancy, or menstruation.

Can I receive the results and medical certificate on the same day?

The rapid test itself may take approximately 20 minutes, but the schedule varies depending on waiting time, the type of test, result interpretation, and the issuance of a physician’s medical certificate. If additional testing or a physician’s assessment is required, issuance on the same day may be difficult, so please inquire first about your submission deadline and the available issuance schedule.

How much do the test and medical certificate cost?

Please inquire about the cost of controlled substances testing by calling 02-6958-7070. If you provide the required test type and the documents to be issued, such as a physician’s medical certificate or test result notification, we can advise you about the cost and preparations for your visit.
