Business owners and employees who directly handle the collection, manufacture, processing, preparation, storage, transportation, or sale of food or food additives are subject to the requirement. Exemptions may apply, such as the transportation or sale of completely packaged food, so check the criteria for your duties and submitting institution.

The current health examination items for workers in the food sanitation field are pulmonary tuberculosis, typhoid, and paratyphoid. Chest X-rays and specimen testing for typhoid and paratyphoid are among the examinations provided. Check the examination methods and preparations required when making an appointment.

Workers in the general food sanitation field undergo a health examination every year, and the validity period is 1 year. Different examination intervals and additional items may apply to work subject to separate regulations, such as school meal services or entertainment businesses, so check with the submitting institution.

Separate sexually transmitted infection health examination items and intervals may apply to work related to entertainment businesses. As these are distinct from general food industry health certificates, ask before visiting about your type of business, required examination items, purpose of submission, and whether the examinations are available at our clinic.

Bring identification. Certificates are issued for in-person collection after identity verification. If someone else will collect the certificate, check in advance whether identification for both you and your representative, as well as additional documents, is required.
