Preparation and cost vary depending on the purpose of the examination, the scan area, and whether contrast media is used. Check the instructions provided when you made your appointment.
Which areas and diseases are evaluated?
Brain: Intracranial hemorrhage, cerebral infarction (stroke), cerebrovascular disease, brain tumors, skull abnormalities, and more.
Lungs: Lung cancer, pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, mediastinal and chest wall diseases, and more.
Abdomen: Various diseases of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and abdominal cavity.
Musculoskeletal system: Cervical and lumbar disc disease, spinal stenosis, degenerative diseases, and more.
The scan range is determined according to the purpose of the examination.
How is the examination performed, and how can I check the results?
The examination is performed when a lesion related to a disease is suspected or a detailed examination is needed. The imaging technique appropriate for the affected area and symptoms is selected. Whole-body imaging can be performed in a short time, and a radiologist directly interprets the images. During the scan, minimize movement and control your breathing as instructed. Discuss the results with your healthcare provider, who will advise you on the need for additional tests or treatment.
What precautions are needed for examinations using contrast media?
Whether contrast media is used is determined according to the purpose of the examination. Please inform us in advance about any previous hypersensitivity reactions to contrast media, allergies, kidney disease, and recent kidney function test results. Provide information about all medications you are taking, including diabetes medication, and follow the individualized instructions regarding fasting, medication use, and fluid intake after the examination. Do not stop taking medication on your own.
What should I do if I may be pregnant or feel uncomfortable during the examination?
Because CT uses X-rays, be sure to inform us before making an appointment and before the examination if you are pregnant or may be pregnant. The medical staff will review the necessity of the examination and alternatives. If you develop any unusual symptoms after contrast media injection, such as hives, difficulty breathing, or severe dizziness, inform a staff member immediately.
How can I check the cost of a CT scan?
Your actual out-of-pocket cost varies depending on the scan area and method, whether contrast media is used, and insurance coverage. Check the amount for each item under Non-Covered Costs and ask about the estimated cost when making your appointment. The cost conditions may differ between CT scans included in other health screening programs and CT examinations performed as standalone medical services. For inquiries, call 02-6958-7070.
